When a storm tears through Kimballton and shingles start peeling off the roofline, you need a crew that picks up the phone and shows up — not a call center that puts you on hold.
Long before Roof Repair Smedway had a website, our lead foremen were already climbing ladders across Kimballton, IA, learning which underlayment holds up against humidity and which fastener pattern actually survives a coastal gust line.
Ask any Roof Repair Smedway crew lead for a copy of our license and certificate of insurance and they'll hand it over before you even finish the sentence — that's standard practice here, not a special favor.
Roofing is a trade where shortcuts hide for a year or two and then fail at the worst possible moment, usually during the next hard rain. We build every Roof Leak Repair job — big or small — the same way, whether it's a single shingle repair or a full tear-off.
Bonded, insured, and ready to show proof on the spot.
A tarp-down call at 2 a.m. gets the same urgency as one at 2 p.m.
You'll see the number before any work starts, not buried in a final invoice.
Technicians dispatched from within Kimballton, IA, not flown in from another region.
A roof rarely fails all at once. It sends smaller signals first, and catching them early is almost always cheaper than waiting for the emergency call.
Asphalt shingles shed protective granules as they age, and a gutter full of grit usually means the surface layer is wearing thin.
Cupped shingles trap moisture underneath instead of shedding it, accelerating rot in the decking below.
Small gaps that let light in will let water in during the next heavy rain.
A yellow-brown ring spreading across a ceiling almost always traces back to a roof leak, even if the leak point is several feet away from the stain.
If upstairs rooms feel noticeably warmer than the rest of the house, a failing roof system is a common hidden cause.
Even one missing shingle can let enough water through to rot the decking underneath within a single storm season.
We break our work into distinct service lanes because a wind-lifted ridge cap and a full tear-off need completely different crews, materials, and timelines.
When high wind or hail peels back a section of roofing, our on-call crew tarps the exposed area to stop active water intrusion before it reaches the decking, then schedules the permanent repair.
Residential work covers shingle repair, full re-roofs, ridge and soffit ventilation upgrades, and skylight flashing — whatever the house actually needs.
Flat and low-slope commercial roofs get scheduled inspections in addition to repair calls, catching ponding-water issues before they become structural.
Old, layered shingle systems often need a full tear-off rather than an overlay, and we'll tell you honestly which one your roof actually needs.
Post-storm inspections give homeowners a documented record for insurance purposes, whether or not a claim is ultimately filed.
If a roof has an unusual pitch, an older material system, or a custom architectural feature, our senior crews handle the scoping personally.
A dispatcher takes down your address, roof type, and the issue, then routes it to the nearest available crew in Kimballton, IA.
The inspection covers decking condition, flashing points, and ventilation, not just the obvious problem area.
Financing and insurance-claim assistance are discussed at this stage if applicable.
A final walkthrough confirms the repair or install meets the agreed scope before the invoice is closed out.
Response windows are communicated upfront, not left as a vague "sometime this week."
Every job gets a written estimate before a single nail is pulled, so there's no surprise number waiting at the end.
Our installers train on manufacturer specifications for shingles, underlayment, and flashing systems, not just general carpentry.
Every repair and install comes with a workmanship warranty separate from the manufacturer's material warranty.
Storm-damage jobs come with photo documentation formatted for insurance adjusters, saving homeowners a step in the claims process.
Some jobs genuinely need a repair, not a replacement, and we'll tell you which one yours is.
We put our workmanship guarantee in writing on every job, so if something about the completed work doesn't match what was agreed, we send a crew back at no extra charge.
If a crew leader finds something during teardown that changes the scope, you'll hear about it before it changes your bill, not after.
We keep multiple crews staged across Kimballton, IA so that a storm hitting one part of the region doesn't leave the rest of Kimballton waiting.
If a storm system moves through Kimballton, IA and call volume spikes, we prioritize active leaks first and communicate realistic wait times for everything else rather than leaving people guessing.
